How do you know when a severe weather alert is issued for our area?
One might be issued through local radio stations, but your radio might night be turned on. It might happen on television, but if you’re not home or in front of the TV, you won’t see it. You might read about it in the newspaper, but by then the danger has passed.
A system offered through the Spartanburg and Greenville County Offices of Emergency Management can help notify you sooner than many other tools.
By registering for the CodeRed alert system, emergency communications can be texted (Standard text messaging rates apply.) emailed, or phoned directly to you.
Additionally, for the hearing impaired, options are available to send alerts to TDD/TTY devices.
