During a fire emergency — especially when you’re sleeping — not hearing a smoke alarm increases the risk of injury for anyone who is hearing impaired.
To reduce that risk, for a limited time, approved applicants are being provided alarms (commonly known as “bed-shakers”) for hearing impaired residents.
To fulfill approved applicant requests, Fire Safe SC is partnering with local fire departments like the Landrum Area Fire and Rescue District to set up a time to install a free alarm.
Availability of these alarms is limited.
