Can You Hear Me Now?

Have you had difficulty making or receiving cell phone calls in our area? Have you tried to dial 911 in an emergency and been directed to a dispatcher in a different county or state than where you were calling? If so, we need to hear from you.

We are working with cellular company representatives and state government leaders to work on solutions for reception and location issues to make sure that when you need emergency services, you are routed to the right call center at the right time to send you the right assistance, and to also make sure that you and those dispatchers can hear each other.

If you’ve had any issues, please email warren.ashmore@landrumfire.com with your name, your cellular number, your cellular provider, the location you had the issue, and what the issue was.

We are compiling the problems that need addressing and working with carriers to address them, but we can’t do it without your input.

Recently Verizon manager in Landrum helped but here in Saluda we can no longer call the 828-894 # with a long distance call. Not even the County Officers. This seems to be a problem between RSNet . Org out of Greensbori( phone line) and MorrisBroadBand
    Or so RD Net promoted

Have not had to call 911 but when in landrum cant get a good signal to make a call form my daughters house.or when I try calling them. Always cut off and have to call 3 or 4 times to carry on a conversation with them. Sprint 8643044483.

We drive #9 quite often but no cell service but once we get to the underpass at 74 we all of a sudden have service. Why is that? Is it because of the the Equestrian Center? Got to take care of them.

The cell phone service in the area from Campobello to Tryon is terrible. For months now calls are dropped every couple minutes. Hwy 14 from Gowansville to Landrum, Blackstock Rd, Belue Mill Rd , the Oak Grove area , Hwy 176 to Tryon, and the list goes on. Not sure what up with the cell service these days. As a Verizon customer I used to never have trouble but now it’s all the time.

Cathie M McGuinn, Verizon, 828-429-8482,Im having dropped calls to the point that it is rare that I can complete a conversation. Hwy 108, Hwy 9, Hwy 64/74. Also, inconsistent volume.

We have had calls not connected pretty much daily. What is the use having it if it doesn’t work. I personally have
not had an emergency that requires calling 911, but sure could have due to my illness’s over the past 6 months. Thank GOD I didn’t because the phone companies don’t
Care, but I’m sure they would if people would quit using them!

Mill Spring, Midway, Lynn, Henderson Road, Green Creek, Peniel Road, all areas in Polk County we have little to no reception..Verizon provider, called and complained several times. Could not even use Verizon Wifi system, had to return and demand refund, hours on phone with tech, no service!

I have 1 bar or no service less than a mile from the Verizon store. Service in our area stinks now! Dropped calls or no service at all in way too many places. Something has changed. I sent over an hour addressing this on the phone last evening. Of course from the comfort of the yard since calls drop in the house.

I live between Landrum & Tryon on the Asheville Hwy. I often have to go outside to make a call because of weak signals.
    My carrier is Verizon.
