Dear Landrum Family,
Neighbors helping neighbors. For us, it’s not just a slogan. It’s a mindset.
Our primary jobs include fire prevention and suppression and emergency medical response, but our jobs don’t end there.
We’re active members of the Landrum community because we live in the Landrum community, we shop in the Landrum community, our kids go (or went) to schools the Landrum community, we go to church in the Landrum community. The Landrum community IS our community, and we like to help when and where we can.
Sometimes, we may raise money for MDA. We may collect food items to help restock the pantry at Operation Hope. We may provide a small scholarship to a Landrum area high school senior to help him or her begin a new life chapter in college.
These activities go beyond tax dollars. Your property taxes fund the operation of the Landrum Area Fire and Rescue District, and a financial audit is performed by a third-party accounting firm each year (and the audit is available for public inspection upon request). For the extra things we do, we rely on the voluntary charity our friends and neighbors.
If you find yourself led to a desire to help fund some of these extracurricular projects as we work to keep making a difference in the community, please make your donation payable to: Landrum Area Fire & Rescue District. You can mail it (P.O. Box 71, Landrum, SC 29356) or deliver it to our headquarters at 200 N. Trade Ave, Landrum, SC 29356.
These funds are deposited directly into a donations account that is separate from the tax dollars used to operate the district on a daily basis, but they are no less important.
We appreciate your commitment to the Landrum community, and we thank you for the confidence you show in us to continue being “neighbors helping neighbors.”
