Don’t be a Victim. Know Self-Defense.

20160802_SelfDefenseClass

We like to think we live and work in a nice, quiet community. While that’s true for the most part, we cannot take personal safety for granted.

When we’re walking to our cars alone, when we’re in businesses by ourselves, when we’re simply walking down the street without paying attention to our surroundings, we create opportunities that may unintentionally put us in harm’s way.

The Landrum Area Fire and Rescue District is devoted to “neighbors helping neighbors,” and we want to make sure that the ones we are here to protect stay safe. That is why we are partnering with the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office.

On August 8, 2016 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Landrum Area Fire and Rescue District headquarters, representatives from the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office will conduct a 90-minute self-defense class that is free of charge and open to the public.

With the class divided between an instructional presentation and hands-on application, this is a great opportunity for our community to gain some valuable knowledge and experience straight from the local sheriff’s office that services much of our District.

Put your safety and the safety of those you care about first.

Secure a seat by calling the Landrum Area Fire and Rescue District at 864-457-3101.

CPR is a skill no one wants to ever need, but it’s a skill that can help save lives.

Kellie Culbreth is a certified CPR instructor with the American Heart Association, and she’s working with the Landrum Area Fire and Rescue District as a part of our Community Awareness Project (CAP) to provide CPR training, instruction, and even certification.

If you want to learn how to perform CPR, need a refresher course in CPR, or want to become certified in CPR, call the Landrum Area Fire and Rescue District today (864-457-3101) to schedule a class with Kellie.

We Want YOU to be a Part of Our Community Awareness Project.

To a firefighter, knowing how to best use a fire extinguisher is second nature. To the general public, it’s trial and error. In an emergency situation, there’s no time for trial and error…especially when lives are at stake.

Whether it’s learning how to use an extinguisher or perform CPR, we want to make sure our community is prepared.

Call the Landrum Area Fire and Rescue District today (864-457-3101) to see how our Community Awareness Project (CAP) can help your home or business.
