The regular monthly meeting of the Landrum Area Fire and Rescue District Commission will be Monday, September 27, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. at the Landrum Area Fire and Rescue District Headquarters located at 200 N. Trade Avenue, Landrum, SC 29356.

Except for executive session allowed under state law, all meetings of the Landrum Area Fire and Rescue District Commission are open to the public.

Landrum Area Fire and Rescue District Observes 20th Anniversary of 9/11 Attacks

On Saturday, September 11, 2021 at the Landrum Depot, the Landrum Area Fire and Rescue District conducted its annual observance of the September 11, 2001 terror attacks against the United States.

For anyone who was unable to join us in remembering those who lost their lives that fateful morning, we wanted to provide this record of the service.

The Landrum Area Fire and Rescue District wishes to offer a special thanks to each of the afternoon’s event participants, the Town of Campobello Fire Department, the City of Inman Fire Department, and all first responders across the nation who place their lives in harm’s way every day to protect their friends and neighbors.

Landrum Area Fire and Rescue District to Remember 20 Years Since 9/11 Attacks

On Saturday, September 11, 2021, the Landrum Area Fire and Rescue District will conduct its annual observance of the September 11, 2001 terror attacks against the United States.

This year’s observance will take place at the Landrum Depot at 1:00 p.m.

For planning purposes, the event’s agenda* is below.

  • Raising and Arch of the American Flag by Campobello and Inman City Ladder Trucks
  • Presentation of Colors by Polk County Memorial Honor Guard (“Amazing Grace” – Bagpipes)
  • Pledge of Allegiance
  • National Anthem- Amanda Diamond
  • Prayer
  • Welcome – Shannon Dotson, Landrum Fire and Rescue District Logistics Lieutenant
  • Guest Speaker – Steve Boehm, FDNY
  • Bell Ceremony – Striking the Four Fives (Firing of Rifles and Taps presented by Polk County Memorial Honor Guard)
  • “God Bless America” – Amanda Diamond
  • Dove Release Ceremony presented by L.J. Meyers (“Going Home” – Bagpipes)
  • Prayer- Conclusion of Memorial Service

At the conclusion of the ceremony, light refreshments and a video will be available inside the Landrum Depot.

The Landrum Area Fire and Rescue District asks that individuals exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19 or who have been in close contact with anyone infected with COVID-19 to please not attend the event in person. For members of the public who attend the observance, please practice social-distancing.

The Landrum Area Fire and Rescue District wishes to offer a special thanks to each of the afternoon’s event participants, the Town of Campobello Fire Department, the City of Inman Fire Department, and all first responders across the nation who place their lives in harm’s way every day to protect their friends and neighbors.

*The Landrum Area Fire and Rescue District reserves the right to make changes in the event agenda pending unforeseen circumstances.

Notice of Filing for Office — Landrum Area Fire & Rescue District General Election November 2, 2021

NOTICE OF ELECTION
COUNTY OF SPARTANBURG
LANDRUM AREA FIRE & RESCUE DISTRICT
GENERAL ELECTION 2021
 

The Board of Voter Registration and Elections of Spartanburg County announces the General Election for the Landrum Area Fire & Rescue District to be Tuesday the 2nd day of November 2021.

The following offices shall be included in this election:

  • Fire District Commissioner Region 1
  • Fire District Commissioner Region 2

Region 1 is the region within the corporate limits of the City of Landrum in Spartanburg County.

Region 2 is the region surrounding the City of Landrum designated as the Landrum Community Fire Service Area by Resolution 836, adopted by Spartanburg County Council on November 28, 1990.

Any person wishing to file as a Candidate for Region 1 and Region 2 must be a Spartanburg County registered voter and Candidates must be residents of the district for which they file for at least 30 days prior to the election.  Candidates must complete a non-partisan Statement of Intention of Candidacy form and submit it to the Spartanburg County Elections office.  This office is located at 366 N. Church St. Suite 1630 Spartanburg, SC 29303. Books will be open for filing July 19, 2021 at noon, and will remain open during regular business hours until August 13, 2021 at NOON.

The dates of filing are July 19, 2021 – August 13, 2021.

People desiring to vote in the upcoming election must be registered by October 2, 2021.  To register, one must contact the Board of Voter Registration & Elections of Spartanburg County.

Registered electors who cannot vote in person may be eligible to vote by absentee ballot.  Voters wishing for more information concerning absentee voting should contact The Spartanburg County Elections & Registration Office.

This is a nonpartisan election and no party affiliation shall be placed on the ballot.

At 9:00 AM on Election Day the Board of Voter Registration & Elections of Spartanburg County shall begin the process of examining the absentee ballots.  This examination will be held at the County Elections Office, 366 N. Church St., Suite 1630 Spartanburg, SC 29303.

On Thursday, the 4th of November at 10:00 AM the Board of Voter Registration and Elections of Spartanburg County will hold a hearing to determine the validity of ballots challenged in this election. This hearing will be held at the County Elections Office, 366 N. Church St., Suite 1630 Spartanburg, SC 29303.

The following precincts shall be open 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Election Day.

NOTE: There are some differences in filing for the Region 3 seat representing the Greenville County portion of the District.

  • Filing opens at Noon on July 15, 2021 and closes at Noon, August 16, 2021.
  • Filing for the Region 3 seat will take place at the Greenville County Voter Registration and Elections Office (301 University Ridge, Suite 1900, Greenville, SC 29601).
  • Filing times and days will be from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • Photo identification is required, and the Greenville County Voter Registration and Elections Office staff will verify voter registration within the district and the region.
  • A Statement of Intention of Candidacy will be signed and witnessed by staff.
  • The candidate is responsible for filing the proper information with the State Ethics Commission.
