Community Risk Reduction (CRR) is a proactive approach to keeping our community safer by identifying and reducing the risks that can lead to fires, injuries, emergencies, and property loss before they happen. While emergency response will always remain a core mission of the Landrum Area Fire and Rescue District, we also recognize that prevention, education, and preparedness play a critical role in protecting lives and property.
Through Community Risk Reduction initiatives, our department works to educate residents, promote fire and life safety, assist vulnerable populations, and reduce preventable emergencies throughout the district. These efforts may include smoke alarm installations, fire safety education, community outreach events, emergency preparedness programs, code enforcement support, and partnerships with schools, businesses, and community organizations.
Every community faces unique risks. By studying local trends, understanding community needs, and engaging directly with the public, the Landrum Area Fire and Rescue District can focus resources where they will have the greatest impact. CRR helps reduce injuries, save lives, protect property, and improve the overall quality of life for the citizens we proudly serve.
Community Risk Reduction is about more than responding to emergencies. It’s about working together to prevent them whenever possible. Through education, partnership, and preparedness, we are committed to building a safer, stronger community for everyone.
